Keep track of medical mileage

You are entitled to recover mileage to and from medical appointments at a rate per mile established by the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Act. Keep track of the dates you go to the doctor, hospital or therapist, your round trip miles traveled, and the identity of the healthcare provider seen. Do this for all medical visits. It adds up quickly. For 2018, the mileage reimbursement is 54.5 cents per mile. If you travel 100 miles, they owe you $54.50. If you travel 1000 miles, it is $545.00. If you cannot travel, you may qualify for a cab or uber or some other means of transportation. The benefits are not generous so be sure to receive all the benefits to which you are entitled.
